São Paulo – Swissnex Brazil is an initiative of Switzerland’s State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), managed in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs as an annex of the Consulate General of Switzerland in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. A public- private venture, swissnex is part of a network of outposts in Bangalore, Boston, Shanghai and San Francisco. Along with individual science and technology counselors around the world, swissnex works on behalf of Switzerland to expand education, research, and innovation.
Swissnex operates in a bottom-up fashion, understanding local trends and needs, hence providing in-depth insights about Brazilian market and culture. Since 2015, swissnex Brazil has been following the increasing growth of fintech, particularly in São Paulo, that corresponds to 65% of the Brazilian fintech market and concentrates the main channels for fundraising, strong connection with banks and entrepreneurs, accelerators and a large pool of talents.
Taking this scenario into account, swissnex Brazil has built a network on fintech and has mapped key opportunities to connect the Brazilian and the Swiss ecosystems and proposes now a Swiss Fintech Mission to Brazil.
